What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is a top tier coating solution.
The process: Powder coating starts as a powder and is applied to a metal object using air and electrostatic charge, the metal objects are then placed into an oven to cure and the finish is a thick solid coating. There is a large variety of color and finish options.
Durability: Powder coating gives a super durable and beautiful finish to any product and will with stand the elements and ware and tare of daily use. Powder coating is more durable than any paint on the market. Powder coat is chip and crack resistant and will ensure the longevity of your project. Some projects require a primer or a top coat. This will be discussed during your consultation/ quote.
Uses: Powder coat is often used on car/motorcycle parts, metal furniture, railings, industrial metal products, decorative metal work, carbon fiber and more.
Our way: When we discuss your project we will establish what prep work is required. If your current material is already coated or painted the substrate will be chemically stripped and/or media blasted to get down to bare metal. The metal surface will then be prepped with a four phase phosphate wash. The parts are then dried and ready to be coated. Some projects require masking. After the parts are fully prepped we plug holes or use high temp masking tape to ensure clean lines and finished edges. The parts then are moved into the spray booth and coated. Depending on your project this could be first primer, color and then top coat. Each coat does require cure time in our 6’x6’x10’ Kool Koat Oven. If your project fits in our oven we can coat it!
